Bead Hoarders Blog Hop Reveal

Bead Hoarders Blog Hop

Welcome to my reveal for Lori Anderson's Bead Hoarders Blog Hop!  I feel like I made an adequate, albeit little, dent in my bead stash.  I was silly and didn't take before pictures,  but here are pictures of my finished projects.  Please forgive the bad photography.  I really need to take a photography class, or at least read my camera's manual.

Necklace made with lovely, peach colored stones, with copper beads and wire.

Dangly earrings made with cranberry colored glass beads and silver chain

Necklace made with a
Bird on a Vine ceramic pendant, created by Nan Emmett (of Spirited Earth), mixed with dyed Magnesite rounds, bone rondells and waxed linen.

Necklace using copper pendant that I made with my Vintaj Sizzix roller and then added patina with vinegar and sea salt

Necklace made with a combination of Jasper beads, black quartz, gun metal beads, chain and clasp

Bracelet made with a strand of lovely graduated beads, (that are probably a jasper, but I can't remember) yellow and red seed beads, with brass clasp and charms

Earrings made with turquoise tube beads and silver chain

Necklace made with a gorgeous, mustard yellow stone, that i received in a destash purchase.  Unfortunately, my crummy photography does not do them justice.
Now, hop on over and see what the other participants have made with their bead stash!

  1. Such lovely pieces - I love the pendants you used! :)

  2. I can help a bit with the photography. Try putting a sheer piece of fabric between your light source (the sun I think) and your jewelry. It will tone down the harshness of the shadows and even out the light. A piece of tissue paper will work too. If you don't have anyone to hold it, create a frame from cardboard and tape it to the surface your jewelry rests on. Or try anyone of a million tutorials online for a very cheap DIY photo/light box.

  3. Your designs are wonderful, Kym... I love the colour combos. I, too, find photography with my humble little camera to be a lot of trial and error.

  4. A goreous collection, my far and away favorite, the turquoise earrings.

  5. Great designs!! I use a small table situated a few feet away from a north facing window and a piece of foam board propped up behind the piece so the light reflects from the window on to the piece. When I sometimes have trouble with lighting or figuring out white balance, reflections or shadows I bring in the big guns--my husband to do the job. I really dislike taking photos of my jewelry. It's a necessary evil.
