Art Bead Scene Blog: February Monthly Challenge

My piece for the February Art Bead Scene Monthly Challenge is a necklace featuring a beautiful ceramic heart pendant made by the very talented Gaea

The inspiration for this months challenge is the lovely painting Carnation, Lily, Lily, Rose by John Singer Sargent.

Last Day for Wonderful Waterstone Giveaway!

Lori at Waterstone Jewelry is having a wonderful giveaway for the cute zipper pouch pictured above, but today is the last day!  Lori was sweet enough to also posted a great tutorial for the pouch, so if you don't win the giveaway, you will be able to make one yourself!

Studio Waterstone is Hosting a Giveaway!

Lori Plyler of Waterstone Jewelry has posted on her blog a tutorial for this beautiful and unique necklace.  Make sure you read to the end of the post for giveaway details for the necklace that she made.

It's Been a Productive Week

The sky is blue today and I will finally be able to leave the house and run some errands.  While the rest of my family has cabin fever, I have actually enjoyed being cooped up this past week.  I've been able to play with the camera and finish a couple of pieces of jewelry, one being the bracelet pictured above.  It is comprised of Vintaj brass chain, clasp, bead caps and the lovely sparrow link.  The stones are brecciated jasper and Indian bloodstone.  I also added siam Swarovski crystals near the clasp.

I am currently working on a necklace for the ABS Monthly Challenge.  This will be my first time to participate and I am kind of excited.

Hope you have a lovely day!

I've been off work the last three days due to bad weather.  That has given me time to play with my new camera.  I've taken a couple hundred pictures and have only liked a few.  I still need a lot of practice with lighting, focus and so on.  Above is a picture of some earrings that I made last spring and one of the few pictures that I kinda liked.

Check out Heather Powers blog for great instructions for this rounded photo corners technique.  I have been struggling with Photoshop for a couple of days and I was able to create this photo in a matter of minutes.  Thank you Heather!
